Notifications
BetterBudgets can send you push notifications to help you stay on track. All notifications are opt-in and customizable.
Types of Notifications
Budget Reminders
Periodic reminders to log your spending. You can set these daily, a few times a week, or weekly — whatever cadence matches your tracking habits.
Monthly Summary
A notification at the end of each month summarizing how you tracked against your budget: total spent vs. budgeted, biggest variances, and your debt balance update.
Debt Milestone Alerts
Get notified when you pay off a debt completely. A small win worth celebrating.
Plan Suggestions
Occasional prompts when BetterBudgets detects patterns that might suggest it's time to revisit your plan (e.g. consistent overspending in a category, a debt paid off ahead of schedule).
Savings Milestones
Notifications when your tracked savings hit a milestone defined in your budget plan.
Managing Notifications
Go to Settings → Notifications to enable, disable, or customize each notification type.
If you've disabled notifications at the system level, you'll need to re-enable them in your device settings:
- ›iOS: Settings → BetterBudgets → Notifications
- ›Android: Settings → Apps → BetterBudgets → Notifications
Notification Frequency
BetterBudgets is intentionally not aggressive with notifications. The goal is a useful nudge, not a stream of alerts. If you feel like you're getting too many, the in-app settings let you reduce or turn off any category.
