Managing Your Subscription
BetterBudgets offers a Free plan and the Thrive plan. Here's everything you need to know about managing your subscription.
Upgrading to Thrive
From inside the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Upgrade to Thrive. You'll see both the monthly ($9.99/month) and annual ($99.99/year) options.
The annual plan saves you 17% compared to paying monthly.
Downgrading to Free
If you're on Thrive and want to switch back to Free, go to Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription and cancel through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Your Thrive features remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Canceling
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store:
- ›iOS: Settings app → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → BetterBudgets
- ›Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → BetterBudgets
Canceling stops future charges. You retain Thrive access through the end of the paid period.

For billing issues, refund requests, or questions about charges, contact us at support@betterbudgets.io — include your account email and a description of the issue.
What Happens to My Data If I Downgrade?
Your data is never deleted when you change plans. If you downgrade from Thrive to Free:
- ›Your saved budgets remain accessible (you can view the first one)
- ›Analytics history is preserved
- ›Canvas content is preserved but locked until you re-upgrade
- ›You can upgrade again at any time and everything resumes
Family Sharing / Multiple Accounts
BetterBudgets subscriptions are per-account. Family Sharing is not currently supported. Each user needs their own account and subscription.
