Reading Your Results
After you tap Generate, BetterBudgets returns up to 5 budget plans. Here's how to read and compare them.
The Plans List
Each plan appears as a card with a summary:
- ›Plan name / number
- ›Debt-free date — the month and year you'll pay off all entered debts
- ›Monthly allocation — how much goes to debt payoff vs. savings each month
- ›Total interest saved — compared to paying minimums only
Plans are sorted from most aggressive to most balanced, so Plan 1 typically has the fastest payoff timeline.
Drilling Into a Plan
Tap any plan to see the full detail view:
Timeline
A year-by-year projection showing your financial trajectory. You can see:
- ›Remaining debt balance at the end of each year
- ›Cumulative savings at the end of each year
- ›Net worth trajectory
Debt Payoff Schedule
A breakdown showing which debt gets paid off when, and how payments roll over once each debt is cleared.
Monthly Budget Breakdown
The exact monthly breakdown: how much goes to each expense category, each debt, and savings.
Comparing Plans
Use the Compare feature to view two plans side-by-side. This is useful for weighing a faster payoff timeline against having more monthly cushion.
Saving a Plan
Tap Save This Plan to commit to a budget. This becomes your active budget, which you can then start tracking against. With the Thrive plan, you can save multiple plans simultaneously.
The plans are starting points, not contracts. Life changes — you can regenerate or edit your budget at any time.
